My Photos from Africa

An aspiring wildlife photographer, Lily now acts as an "ambassador" raising awareness for animal conservation, responsible pet ownership and ecological preservation through live appearances and volunteer-work. In her free time, Lily supports numerous charities and non-profit organizations through volunteer work and product.

A native to South Florida, Lily Capehart discovered her affection for lizards at the age of 2. While other young girls enjoyed Barbies and dolls, Lily went on to find herself immersed in the world of the cute, fast-footed, wild anole lizards. Inspired by a segment on Animal Planet, Lily discovered that she could relax lizards by rubbing their bellies, similar to the woman who "hypnotized" alligators. Still a child, Lily’s imagination moved her to create a number of whimsical settings in which she would dress and pose her amenable little friends to fit the scene. It was when Lily’s father, a society photographer, was able to capture her creations on film that Lily’s "Lizard-Ville®" became something for everyone to enjoy. With help from her mother, Dina, has assistedLily turning "Lizard-Ville®" into a business that offers greeting cards, t-shirts and artwork that can be purchased at select retailers and on her website.

Lily’s images have been exhibited and sold in art galleries and juried shows. She has gone on to receive national recognition on Late Night with David Letterman, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. Like her father, Lucien, Lily has developed a passion for photography that recently earned her a Silver Medal in the 2009 National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her exquisite shot of a baby elephant in Africa.
